茨城県牛久市中央3丁目 20-1

シャトーカミヤ旧醸造場施設は、明治36年(1903年)浅草の「神谷バー」で知られる実業家、神谷傳兵衛が創設したワイン醸造施設で、事務室、 醗酵室、貯蔵庫の隣接する３棟の建造物となっている。

フランスに現存した醸造場をモデルにしており、ボルドー地方の技術を用いてぶどうの栽培からワインの 醸造・瓶詰めを一貫して行っていた。

設計者は明らかにされていないが、明治中期の本格的な煉瓦造りの建造物がほぼ完全な形で現存しており、その歴史的価値の高さから、2008年度の国の重要文化財の指定を受ける予定とされている。

とりわけ醗酵室は、各階ごとに配された設備や記念館の展示物などから、当時のワイン醸造工程を窺うことが可能であり、産業技術史上も大変重要な資料価値があると思われる。

また、事務室は、シャトーを名乗るに相応しい意匠を有し、明治中期の煉瓦造建築の意匠水準を計るうえでも大変価値が高い。

Chateau Kamiya Winery was established by Denbe Kamiya, an entrepreneur who was known for "Kamiya Bar" at Asakusa in 1903. The winery consisted of three buildings; administration, fermentation laboratory, and cellar.

Kamiya winery made the entire production of the wine from the growth of the grapes to the bottling based on the winemaking methods in Bordeaux.

Although the architect of the buildings is unknown, the winery will be registered as one of the important cultural assets of Japan in 2008 due to the perfect condition of the buildings of brick and their historical value.

The winery is now used as a museum of wine, and one can observe the winemaking process from the exhibition in the former fermentation laboratory. The exhibited materials can be great assets in the industrial history of Japan.

The administration building, which is worth calling itself chateau, can also be one of the great assets to evaluate the maturity of the architectural design in the Meiji era.
